Kirk Young

Kirk Young

Kirk Young earned his BME (Music Education) at the University of Maine. A professional music educator for almost 25 years, he is presently the Director of Music at Winnisquam Regional High School in Tilton, New Hampshire.


He is a long-time member of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), a certified Music Judge since 1998, and a faculty member at Harmony University (BHS’s week-long summer music program) for the past 23 years, where he teaches conducting classes for current and aspiring directors. He is also the bass of Brouhaha Quartet, the first and current international champions of the Society for the Preservation and Propagation of Barbershop Quartet Singing in the United States.


In addition to being a dynamic and inspiring director, Kirk is in high demand as an arranger, a coach, and a clinician.

Ever After Vocal Quartet is the Sweet Adelines Region 14 Bronze Medalist out of Atlanta. Ever After Quartet, a dynamic group of women from the Atlanta metro area, performs a cappella music with a little bit of humor, lots of heart, and a tiny sprinkle of sass! In their first competition together.

Soundtrack is the 2022 BHS NextGen 5th Place Bronze Medalist from the Carolinas. They began in 2019 as youth members of Heart of Carolina A Cappella Chorus in Durham, NC. Soundtrack just competed in the BHS International Quartet competition, held this summer in Louisville, Kentucky, and finished 39th out of the top 60 quartets in the world!

Registration fee for students is a total of $129.

*The registration fee covers housing in the dorms, all meals, music, learning tracks, and instruction.


Attendance is free for middle and high school music educators and for chaperones.
